POLICIES

Appointment Prep:

SKIN: Gently exfoliate the area of skin and lotion a week prior to your appointment.

SHAVING: Please, do not shave. Wait until you get to your appointment and I will shave the area as part of the skin prep. There is a high chance of you nicking your skin and causing irritation or an open wound, therefore making it a space that cannot be tattooed over. This is not pertaining to legs or regularly shaved areas of skin.

NUMBING CREAM: Please do not use unless you have discussed it with me prior to your appointment. I do not have a problem with it, but can change the texture of the skin and I need to be involved in the process if you choose to do so.

WHAT TO WEAR: Wear something that will give us easy access to the desired area. You can bring layers / options to ensure you feel completely comfortable while you are getting tattooed. I also have drapes and can cover any part of your body that you do not want fully exposed.

Leg / Thigh - I have found that dresses / skirts work really well. Or wearing a bathing suit bottom that can be untied on the sides. Something loose that can be moved around and adjusted to access the space.

Sternum / Rib - A loose sports bra and shirt that can be pulled up

DRINK WATER: Please arrive to your appointment having already eaten a healthy meal that will sustain you during your session. Bring water and some healthy snacks if you have a long session. Your body is going to directly respond to the tattoo based on what is fueling it. All eating or drinking will be done outside. Please do not drink alcohol the day before your tattoo.

PHOTO: I love taking a good photo of your piece when we are done. That way, everyone has couple quality photos of their new tattoo! Solid / neutral color clothes work really well with tattoo photos because it allows the tattoo to pop and nothing distracts from the visual. This is just a recommendation. So, please dress for comfort and in whatever you would feel happy being captured in!

Post Appointment:

Please leave the Saniderm cover on for up to 48 hours.

Remove the cover immediately if you notice that your skin is getting irritated around the edges of the plastic OR if the corner peels and exposes the tattoo.

Take it off by running it under hot water. While running it under the water, peel a corner up and pull it away from the skin. Then, slowly pull the plastic off. Similar to a command strip, rather than a bandaid.

Clean the tattoo with an antibacterial soap and pat it dry. Then, apply a thin layer of aquaphor.

If needed, apply aquaphor up to 2 times a day. After the first week, you can transition to using lotion if needed.

Continue cleaning it when you shower and after sweating.

Do not itch, scratch, or pick your healing tattoo. Remain out of direct sunlight and do not go in a pool during the entirety of your healing, as this can cause damage.

It takes up to 30 days to fully heal.
